It all starts with a relaxed conversation where I get to know you, your vision and what you'd love to create. This is where I learn about the story you want to tell and the memories that matter most.
Together we map out the scope of your project, including the type of book or wall art, the key moments or chapters to include, and a timeline that works for you. I'll also provide a quote at this stage.
I guide you through collecting your photos, memorabilia and any stories or captions you'd like included. If you have printed photos or keepsakes that need scanning, we organise that here too. We will arrange for your photos, both digital and printed, to be safely delivered to me.
Any printed photos, documents or memorabilia are professionally scanned, edited and restored. I bring faded or damaged images back to life so they look their best on the page.
This is where the magic happens. I carefully curate your photos, edit your images and design every page with intention, weaving together visuals and storytelling into a cohesive, beautiful layout.
I share the draft design with you for review. We can go through it together page by page via a Zoom session or face to face. Alternatively, if you prefer to work through it yourself, I'll provide the necessary documents for you to provide notes. I’ll make any adjustments until you're completely happy with the result.
Once the final design is approved, your book or wall art is professionally printed by one of the reputable companies that I have recommended. I quality check every piece before it's delivered to you, ready to be treasured and enjoyed.
Your finished keepsake is in your hands. Whether it takes pride of place on the coffee table, hangs on the wall, or is wrapped up as a gift, this is the moment it all comes together.
After a wonderful trip to Antarctica, I spent several months compiling my images into a photo book using software provided by a photo book company, and on the point of placing my order learned they had gone into liquidation. Purely by chance, at that same time, I met Simone from Your Photos Filed on a photography workshop. She immediately empathised with my dilemma and offered a solution to rework my layout in her own software. Throughout this process Simone was a thorough professional, responded promptly to emails and her calm demeanour provided reassurance that my memories were in good hands. I cannot speak too highly of the outstanding service that Simone provides and am sure to use Your Photos Filed again in the future.
Simone was brilliant with a last-minute idea to put together a photo book of our family life in Australia to give as a gift to my husband’s family who live in Spain. With a tight deadline, I left all the details to Simone (she has full access to my photos) and it came out beautifully. This was such a unique gift that will be treasured and I can’t recommend Simone enough for keeping our photos up to date, which enabled her to pull this together so seamlessly for us.
Every project is different depending on the type of book and the scope of the project. A memory photo book is typically quicker than a comprehensive life story book, which is worked on over a longer period. I'll give you a clear timeline during our initial consultation.
As much or as little as you like. Some clients love being hands-on throughout the process, while others prefer to hand over the reins after our initial planning session. Either way, I keep you in the loop and you'll always have the opportunity to review and approve the design before it goes to print.
At a minimum, your photos and a rough idea of what you'd like to create. Beyond that, I'll guide you through everything else. If you have printed photos, memorabilia, captions or stories you'd like included, we'll work through how to gather those together.
With the utmost care. I understand how precious your photos and memorabilia are, and I treat every item as if it were my own. All digital files are stored securely and any physical items are returned to you safely once the project is complete.
I build revision rounds into every project so you can feel completely confident in the final result. I'll walk you through the design and we'll make adjustments together until you're happy with every page.
Yes. Much of the process can be done remotely through video calls, email and secure file sharing. If you have printed photos or memorabilia that need scanning, we can arrange for those to be posted to me safely.
Yes, I have a range of sample books that showcase different binding styles, different paper and varying qualities. I can either arrange to meet with you face to face, or I can show you the various styles over a Zoom meeting.
Yes, I can certainly help out in this regard as I know that sometimes it's daunting to put together the words needed to tell a story.
A closer look at some of the meaningful projects I've had the joy of bringing to life.
I met John on a photography retreat, shortly after a local photo book company had gone into administration. He'd spent hours designing a book of his recent travels to Antarctica and when the company closed, his work was lost.
Brian came to me with an old scrapbook of certificates, newspaper articles and a few photos that detailed his life in his earlier years.
Coralie and her siblings wanted to present their mum with a beaufiul photo book celebrating her life at her upcoming 90th Birthday party.
Magenta came to me with a vision to transform an old album of photos to a beautifully designed photo book.
I met Casey at a networking function and through talking with her about what I did, she realised I was just the person she was looking for!
Marie and her family went to South Africa for the most amazing holiday. They bought a digital camera especially for the trip and loved taking photos of the various animals they encountered and the beautiful South African scenery.
